Methodology
Where the data comes from
Données Québec publishes the SEAO open data under CC-BY 4.0. CanadaBuys publishes the federal data under the Open Government Licence – Canada. Every record keeps a link to its official source.
What we transform
We normalize identifiers, deduplicate entities and group UNSPSC classifications. We never silently correct an official fact, and we redistribute no tender document.
Our editorial rules
- A missing value stays missing; it never becomes an invented zero.
- Every aggregate over partial data publishes its basis: median, interquartile range (IQR, the middle half of the values) and sample size.
- We never turn a statistical observation into an accusation.
- We add no personal data to the names published by the official sources. The review of how data about natural persons is handled remains open; no broader guarantee is claimed.
How we verify
Before each update, Lauréo recounts every notice against the source, restores a backup and checks the site. The data status publishes the date of the data online and the updates still waiting to be processed.
When we get it wrong
We keep the provenance, fix the error at the step where it arose, and publish the known limits. Report an error opens the correction channel; the official record remains the authority.
Lauréo is independent: it is not affiliated with any of the sources it reuses (SEAO, CanadaBuys…) or with the governments that publish them (Government of Quebec, Government of Canada).
